Francis C. "Babe" Hoffa, 60, manager of Crawfordsville Scrap & Salvage, Inc., was dead on arrival at Culver Hospital at 7:50 p.m. Thursday following a heart attack. Born June 27,1908 in Crawfordsville, he was a son of George and Margaret Carver Hoffa. He was married to Reba Jeffrey April 21, 1928 in Indianapolis. He was a member of Crawfordsville Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and Shrine at Indianapolis and Crawfordsville Eagles and Elks Clubs. Mr. Hoffa attended Crawfordsville schools. Surviving besides the widow are a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Delores) Todd of Crawfordsville; a son, Charles Francis Hoffa at home; two granddaughters, and three brothers, Gerald J. Hoffa of Crawfordsville, George H. Hoffa of Gosport and Edwin Lee Hoffa of Boulder, Colo. A sister preceded him in death. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Hunt and Son Funeral Home with Revs. Harry Hybarger and Carlyle Scott officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery.
